Ethics
for Artificial Intelligences

According to some authorities, in the next 10-30
years machines will take up most positions of
responsibility in our society because they will outperform the humans who
previously filled those positions. I argue that using non-terminating
hill-climbing algorithms, we can ensure that such machines will learn to
behave as though instilled with an appreciation for ethics.
