Quest for Paradise

A Musical Drama
 by Steven Kent Murphy
and Christopher Lang

Miriam, a young wife and lifetime resident of the Ivory Tower, takes the bullet for her husband, Joséphian. Now she's on a quest to save his soul as well as his life. As an angel reincarnated in a young boy, her journey takes her through Earth, Heaven and Hell to find him hiding with an eccentric street scientist, Roach, and his gutsy son, Aphid. They adopt her into the gang as Joséphian's son and as an integral part in Roach's plan for a scam that could rescue them from poverty. Can she rescue her father/husband from crime before he serves eternal time, or will forces of fate make her too late?

“Thy eyes beheld my unformed substance; in Thy Book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

-Psalms 139:16

Quest for Paradise was performed in 1994 as a reading at Cornell University. It's a musical drama that calls for a lot of action and stage magic (as popular in films).
