To unlock the secrets of human intelligence, scientists raise a boy from birth in a controlled environment. The young man believes that the rest of humanity was destroyed in a nuclear war and that residual radiation makes survival impossible beyond his artificial environment. His only companions are a family of cloned Neanderthals and a talking computer...until, that is, he becomes suicidal!Threshold attempts to define "humanity" viscerally and allegorically. It likewise examines the experience of becoming (more) self-aware. The music incorporates primitive chanting/drumming with electronic music/audio effects. The action takes place in one continuous scene which the audience views as though through one-way glass.
