Z.B.M. (also known as Zircon Boogie Monster to close acquaintances) is an upscale rock and roll band specializing in music ranging from the 1950's to 1990's. Z.B.M. plays a mix of rock, blues, reggae, a little country, and anything inbetween. Z.B.M. plays mostly in the Madison area, but has gigged around Wisconsin from Minocqua to Milwaukee; Sheboygan to Beloit; Wisconsin Dells to Lake Geneva.
Z.B.M. is presently a 5-piece band, with drums, bass, keyboards, and two guitars, although there is much switching around on instruments. Z.B.M. is known as a crowd pleasing party band that is fun to be around. The vocals are great; harmonies are better; and one never knows what will happen with Z.B.M. around!
Z.B.M. formed in 1985, and was known as a "wall of sound" band because it featured two keyboard players. As the music of the 1980's blended into a retro movement, Z.B.M. changed its focus. In 1988 Z.B.M. became a hot four-piece 50's and 60's band, but never lost its original focus of Randy Glodowski on lead vocals and guitar, with his wife Shelley on keyboards and vocals.
In 1994 Z.B.M. once again became a five-piece band with the addition of Shelley's brother Brett on guitar, mandolin, 12-string, and vocals, and expanded its music to include 70's through 90's, all the while keeping crowd-pleasing dance tunes in mind.
In 1991 Z.B.M. released its first CD, entitled "Pay the Price." "Pay the Price" was well received. A second release is in the works, and the band hopes to finish it in 1996. Both recordings feature originals by several members of the band, as well as "favorites" of other artists' works.

Randy Glodowski is Z.B.M.'s official leader. Randy's voice is reminiscent of Roy Orbison, but he can handle virtually any singing style with ease. Awesome is the operative word for Randy's vocals. His guitar playing is exceptionally rhythmic and percussive; his original songs are clear and elegant; and his stage presence is wonderful. He truly has one of the great voices in the country. Randy has played with The Orbits, Sound Street, Circus, Tara and Paraphernalia, The Skylight Trio, and Express
Shelley Glodowski is the keyboardist of Z.B.M., as well as playing guitar. Shelley provides much of Z.B.M.'s orchestration and harmonies. Her voice is reminiscent of Stevie Nicks or Bonnie Raitt. Shelley has a classical background that brings style to Z.B.M. Shelley and Randy have written much of Z.B.M.'s original material. Shelley has played with Changes (now Marcy and the Highlights), The Skylight Trio, Wanderlust, and Pheasant Under Glass.
Brett Peterson is Z.B.M.'s "other" guitar player and ace in the hole. His style is as hard-edged as Randy's is sweet, but Brett can also croon when he wants to. Brett completes the vocal side of the band, as well as being quite an entertainer, crowd pleaser, and arranger. Brett can play almost any instrument he picks up. Brett is a great bluesman and technician. He has played with Circus, Snoblind, Chocolate Chip and the Cookies, The Skylight Trio, and The Renegades.
Tom Barry is Z.B.M.'s drummer. Tom has a steady beat, a way with a song, and an easy smile that charms audiences. Z.B.M. is known as "The Tom Barry Band" is Tom's neighborhood, because he has his own personal following of fans.
Tom Dehlinger is Z.B.M.'s bass player and, when the situation calls for it, a guitar player or pedal steel player. Tom is a "hired gun" for many bands in Madison, and has the reputation of being able to step into any situation and do an excellent job; whether in the studio or on stage. Tom has played with EVERYONE in Madison, as well as bands in Nashville and Los Angeles.
