Study Abroad — Warwick University
The Department of Philosophy has a junior year exchange program with Warwick University in Conventry, England. Warwick University is internationally regarded as a center of excellence in teaching and research. The university is approximately 15 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, and home to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Train access to London is easy, with frequent 90-minute train rides. The program is open to both out-of-state students and in-state students. It is a particular bargain among abroad programs for in-state students, who pay the same fees and tuition they would pay here. (In other Junior Year Abroad programs, even in-state students will pay slightly in excess of out-of-state tuition.)
Most courses overlap, so any of the philosophy courses you take there will transfer here (and so will the non-philosophy courses). You can satisfy many philosophy requirements (and many university requirements) there, including logic, history of Modern Philosophy, Ancient Philosophy, and Category A and B courses. This means that you won't lose any courses or credits with this year abroad program.
Usually a year long, the program allows students enough time to get a real feel for the country, travel, make new friends, and learn what English university life is like.
