Emily received her B.A. in Philosophy from Colby College and M.A. in Philosophy from California State University, Long Beach. Her research focuses on the concepts of mental health and disorder. She is particularly interested in the psychiatric construct of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She currently writes about the concept of moral injury, resilience, and the grounding of conceptions of psychological dysfunction in an Aristotelian virtue ethics framework. She is also interested in the conceptual and ethical implications of using virtual reality technology in the treatment of mental disorder.
