Prof. Clatterbuck’s research interests are in the philosophy of science, including philosophy of biology and cognitive science. In philosophy of biology, her work examines the nature of probabilistic explanation in evolutionary biology. She also has interests in the history of biology, particularly Darwin. In philosophy of cognitive science, she is interested in the role that abstract concepts play in human cognition, how those concepts can be learned, and whether they are uniquely human.
