3 UW–Madison Philosophy graduate students earn doctorates

The Department of Philosophy is thrilled to announce that three graduate students have successfully defended their dissertations:

  • Michael Bruckner, “Minds Evaluating Minds” (Advisor: Russ Shafer-Landau)
  • Lukas Myers, “The Role and Rules of Ridicule” (Advisor: Harry Brighouse)
  • Elizabeth Bell, “A Foundation for a Logic of Images” (Advisor: Michael Titelbaum)

In the fall, Michael will begin a postdoctoral fellowship at NYU Shanghai; Lukas will begin a postdoctoral fellowship at Auburn University; and Elizabeth will begin a permanent teaching position at Gonzaga University. Congrats, all!
