Graduate Program

Graduate faculty carry on a long and proud tradition of highly acclaimed teaching and research in core areas of philosophy—especially in the philosophy of science and ethics, but also in metaphysics, epistemology, and the history of philosophy. The department has long enjoyed an international reputation for the excellence of its faculty research. We pride ourselves on the accessibility of our faculty; every graduate student has a faculty advisor, and relations between faculty and graduate students are friendly and collegial. The department boasts one of the best placement records in the country.
