Philosophy of Mind
I work in the philosophy of mind. I’m interested in what consciousness is, why it is so important to us, why things appear the way they do to us in sense perception, and whether the world is how it appears to be. I try to make progress on these big questions by looking at smaller issues: for example, whether our brains could have invented the colors, how things sound to you when you start feeling a beat under music, and why things look smaller when far away.
