Laura Dickey graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2022 with a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.S. in Biology. She specializes in applied ethics, focusing on the use of predictive machine learning in morally relevant decision-making, particularly in the criminal justice system. Laura is dedicated to fostering kindness and intellectual curiosity in higher education settings and currently serves as a mentor for STEM scholars in the McNair Scholars Program. Outside of her work, she enjoys bird watching, playing music, and writing poetry.
